Papagayo Beach Resort Curacao

Papagayo Beach Resort is a nice play to stay. Location is great and do recommend to include breakfast at the beach (nice). Very big balconies. Daily free clean beach towels & cleaning of the villas. When you want a late checkout, try to fix it with the booking as locally it will be promised but at the end you can be left empty handed (our experience). Nevertheless very nice and professional staff. It is a vibrant area with popular beaches so you can expect some noice from the beach restaurants on Fri / Sat. Does end on time. Villas only have AC in the bedrooms, other areas don’t have it but you won’t miss it. Very clean. All in all, great stay. Nice people.

We've come on to this gorgeous island in Sept. '09 on a 1 day tour by guide Mr. ivan Martinez. He was great, drove us all around the island, and stopped us in a few beaches in what was several hours of guided tour. We have seen both part of old citte- Otrabanda included, nice Dutch colorful arhcitecture, stopped at rum and perfume factories (the latter if not mistaken..!:) and drank a coffee @ Papagayo hotel.

The only reason it's not a 5 star review is the fact that it's a pretty bad bug infestation here. The first day I woke up with a swarm of black ant type bugs in my bed and called for my room to be 'fixed' and sheets changed bc I killed them all right then on spot. Nobody wants to wake up to bugs on their birthday. One reception person said they would spray and change my sheets at noon when they came in. Came back hours later (bc I didn't want to sit in the bug room) and nothing was done. The front desk then informed me they do not spray or do anything for the infestation. Now if this was 1 or 2 bugs I would not be writing this. But it's terrible I can sit here for 5 minutes and spot about 10 moving bugs. I keep my door closed and trash kept but it's no way to sit your drink or food down without it being attacked.... and this is an ocean front room on the top floor. Another complaint is they do not come in and make your bed and clean up daily. They just drop off towels and take dirty towels, what made me mad today is -- it looks like it was a male who left his marker on my toilet today during his duty bc my toilet seat was left up and with a reminder. This is dissapointing bc Im loving the staff and location but cleaning is required wherever I reside and this isn't it.

We stayed for 10 days in a villa at Papagayo Beach Resort and had an amazing time. First of all, the resort and beach offer you everything you'd wish for at a luxurious resort, but I must say the people working at Papagayo bring you just that extra service that makes you experience why this resort has been winning so much awards. Also, the good service from De Vos Autoverhuur deserves to be mentioned. All in all, we had a great time on Curacao and look forward to return to Papagayo Beach Resort soon.
